Liverpool have agreed a deal for the best in the world.

This is an exciting era at Anfield. Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have both departed for pastures new. With Andoni Iraola and Julian Ward back at the helm, in many ways Liverpool are returning to their values of old.

Iraola represents the charismatic and full throttle style that Jurgen Klopp had imbued on this team. Ward is someone who worked in recruitment with the mindset of building a squad, not merely buying the best players.

His track-record while previously in the role speaks for itself. It was Ward who opted against signing Jude Bellingham having been under the notion that the Reds needed a full midfield overhaul. It was Ward who then laid the foundations for the arrival of Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister all in the same summer.

With Ward now in charge as sporting director again, Liverpool are considering also appointing a technical director. Lee Dykes of Brentford is well-liked.

On the pitch, the squad being assembled is exciting. Particularly when it comes to the young cohort that has arrived or has been signed by the club.

Jeremy Jacquet already looks like a steal. He has been phenomenal since arriving at Liverpool. Giovanni Leoni could be another gem. Meanwhile, Ifeanyi Ndukwe has started this summer very well, and has shown promising signs at Levante.

There's also Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and Victor Munoz coming through. Meanwhile, Bradley Barcola, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz are all relatively young.
