According to The Daily Record , Oskar Fallenius has held discussions with Djurgården sporting director Maximilian Hahn about his future, despite previously indicating that he wanted to leave when his contract expired.

The 24-year-old joined Djurgården from Brøndby in 2023 for a reported €175,000 fee. His estimated market value stands at around €400,000, making him a potentially affordable option for Rangers if he becomes available without a transfer fee.

However, his latest comments suggest the situation remains open. Speaking to Swedish media, Fallenius confirmed that he and Hahn had maintained a positive dialogue over recent weeks and months.

“I never rule anything out,” the winger said, describing Djurgården as a club to which he feels closely connected.

Yet sentiment alone won’t settle his future. Fallenius wants a clear sporting plan, and he admitted that ambitions to play in a stronger league could influence his decision.

He has spent four years at the Stockholm club and wants assurances that his footballing development will continue if he stays.

That could complicate Rangers ‘ recruitment plans. A free transfer would remove the need for a substantial fee, but the Scottish club would still have to agree on wages, bonuses and the player’s role within the squad.
