Liverpool’s summer planning appears to have included a serious look at Endrick, with confirmation emerging that the club explored the possibility of a move for the Real Madrid forward. According to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, there was genuine interest from Anfield, even if that interest stopped short of a formal proposal.

That detail matters. It underlines that Liverpool’s recruitment team were fully aware of the attacking imbalance within the squad, particularly after Mohamed Salah’s departure and the absence of a natural replacement on the right. The club did extensive business, but there was a clear sense that one or two priority areas remained unresolved, and the forward line sat near the top of that list.

Endrick has long been viewed across Europe as one of the game’s standout young attacking talents. Liverpool’s interest makes strategic sense. He is capable of playing centrally or from the right, and that versatility is increasingly valuable in a squad still searching for ideal combinations in the final third.

As relayed by Romano, “Then there was also interest from Liverpool,” before adding, “Liverpool were keen on Endrick, but that’s it – they never presented any sort of proposal.” The situation went no further because Real Madrid were firm in their position, and Liverpool were unable to advance discussions beyond that exploratory stage.

Romano also explained, “Liverpool were thinking of Endrick, even to buy Endrick at some point. But Real Madrid closed the doors to loan and permanent transfer approaches. For Real Madrid, it was not possible to touch the player.”

At the time, Real Madrid’s stance left no room for movement. From Liverpool’s side, that effectively ended the conversation. Yet circumstances in the market can change quickly, especially when a highly rated young player is struggling for regular minutes.

That is where this report becomes especially relevant. If Endrick’s role remains limited, clubs who monitored the situation previously are likely to revisit it. Liverpool are among those who have already done the groundwork, and that can be important if the player becomes more realistically available in a future window.

For Liverpool, the wider context is hard to ignore. The squad still looks short in specific attacking profiles, and the need for a right-sided option who can also threaten centrally feels pressing. Endrick fits that description neatly, while also offering the individual quality to create openings in tight spaces.
