Rangers could face a significant contract dilemma involving Dujon Sterling, with several Premier League clubs reportedly monitoring his performances at Ibrox.

According to an exclusive report from Mick Brown in Football Insider , English top-flight sides are considering moves for the versatile defender after his recent displays caught the attention of scouts. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown believes Sterling’s performances have increased his appeal, particularly following Rangers’ consecutive Old Firm victories against Celtic .

The 26-year-old has developed into an influential member of Derek McInnes’ squad, offering valuable options across several defensive positions. His ability to operate at right-back, left-back and in other defensive roles gives Rangers considerable flexibility, especially during a demanding domestic campaign.

However, interest from England presents a difficult situation for the Scottish club. Premier League sides possess considerably greater financial resources, and a substantial offer could tempt both the player and his representatives.

Rangers have reasons to remain confident about their negotiating position. Sterling currently has a contract running until 2028, meaning the club does not face immediate pressure to accept an offer. Nevertheless, the growing interest could force the Ibrox hierarchy to address his future earlier than anticipated.

Sterling’s recent performances against Celtic have strengthened his position within the Rangers squad, with his defensive contribution proving particularly valuable during two important victories.

McInnes needs players who can maintain their level during difficult fixtures, and Sterling has delivered exactly that in recent weeks. His physical presence, recovery pace and willingness to cover different positions have helped Rangers manage demanding situations against their biggest domestic rivals.

His importance goes beyond individual performances. Rangers need dependable players who can maintain consistency throughout the season, particularly when injuries and suspensions disrupt the manager’s preferred starting eleven.
