Despite having one of the very best forward lines on paper, Jose Mourinho has not been able to get the Real Madrid attack firing on all cylinders. To further bolster this area, the Merengues added Carlos Espi and Yan Diomande to their ranks during the last summer transfer window, and despite limited opportunities so far, both have put in some encouraging performances.

Kylian Mbappe has also had a good start to the season, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in their eight games so far. On the other hand, Vinicius Junior has struggled to improve his form, and clearly needs to improve his game going forward.

Another player who has impressed a lot in this initial stretch of the season is Arda Guler, whose creativity has been excellent. The Turk is slowly becoming an important part of the team, and this is clear from the fact that Mourinho has started him five times, despite the stiff competition from the likes of Jude Bellingham, Bernardo Silva, Yan Diomande, and Brahim Diaz for two attacking spots.

Guler is still only 21 years of age, and Real Madrid are looking to secure his long-term future . In this regard, the club has recorded a significant success, as Diario AS reports that they have reached an agreement with the Turk to extend his contract by two years, till 2031.

Negotiations for this renewal had been going on for some time now, and this is the midfielder’s first renewal with the Merengue club since his signing three years ago. In addition to adding two more years to his stay, this new contract also raises his salary to indicate his new status in world football.

Arda Guler has played with four coaches at Real Madrid so far, and all of them have recognized his amazing potential. Hopefully, he will continue growing at the pace he has shown so far, and have a very long and successful career at the Merengue club.
