Despite a slow start in terms of goals, it’s clear that Luis Enrique absolutely loves summer signing Maghnes Akliouche.

He got his first goal for the club against Le Mans last week, and will continue to play a vital role for the team, especially in domestic games.

In his press conference today, Luis Enrique was asked about the versatile attacker and gave him just the sort of praise we were expecting.

“You know his character better than I do, he’s an international. I need to talk more about the player than the person,” the manger said in his press conference today.

“No matter his way of expressing himself, the high level depends on the footballing level. He started the season brilliantly, he can play almost everywhere. I’m happy.”

Of course it will be almost impossible for Akliouche to break into the team ahead of the first choice front three plus Ferran Torres as the other main option. But he’s on the right path to get his chance eventually, that’s without question. He will be learning so much every week at the moment.
