West Ham saw a €20 million offer for Mohamed Alì Zoma rejected this summer, but he has now made his position clear.

The 22-year-old has started the 2026/27 campaign in strong form for Nürnberg, scoring six goals in six 2. Bundesliga appearances. That follows 14 goals in his first season in Germany after joining from AlbinoLeffe in 2025.

Nürnberg reportedly turned down West Ham ’s proposal in August, with reports valuing it at €20m including bonuses. The Hammers wanted Zoma, yet the deal collapsed, leaving him disappointed because he had hoped to move to London again.

Since then, however, his stock has risen. Roberto Mancini handed Zoma his senior Italy debut against Belgium on September 25, while the forward attracted interest from several clubs outside Germany.

Zoma has openly credited Miroslav Klose with helping him settle in Germany and improve his football. The former Lazio striker played a major part in convincing him to join Nürnberg, and Zoma has praised that influence.

His latest comments will interest West Ham. Asked whether he could see himself playing in the Premier League or Serie A, Zoma refused to shut either door.

“I’m not closing my doors to anyone. I’m ready and focused; let’s see what the future holds,” he told Sky Sports, via Tuttomercatoweb.

That leaves room for another approach, although West Ham now face a tougher task. Zoma has six goals this season, has earned international recognition and carries a reported €20m valuation.
