Real Madrid's frustrations from the Madrid derby have been compounded by the fallout from the game, with Dean Huijsen now facing a suspension.

The young defender was sent off during the 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid after conceding a penalty on Giuliano Simeone.

And the RFEF's Disciplinary Committee has now confirmed the punishment.

According to the Committee's ruling for Matchday 7, Huijsen has been handed a one-match ban, meaning he will miss Real Madrid's fixture against Villarreal on October 10, reports Mundo Deportivo .

The suspension is a blow for Jose Mourinho, given how impressive Huijsen has been in the early weeks of the season, establishing himself as a key figure at the heart of the defence.

Mourinho's assistant, Pedro Machado, was also dismissed during the derby and has similarly been suspended for one match "for conduct contrary to good sporting order," as per the Committee's statement.

In addition, Real Madrid received a formal warning for their delayed return for the second half, which began five minutes late as noted by the referee.
