Liverpool are reportedly serious about one of the biggest deals football has ever seen. A Ballon d'Or nominee could be heading to Anfield.

Liverpool have entered a new transfer market in the last two summers. This is a club that never really shopped for the biggest players and hadn't come particularly close to a nine-figure signing when they won the title in 2025.

Now? Well, they've got three such players in their squad and are in fact the only club in history to do so. Liverpool have transformed the way they look at transfer business and it's meant spending lavishly on elite talent.

Has that worked? No, it hasn't. But Liverpool will back themselves to get the best out of their signings, even if the impact hasn't been anywhere near as immediate as they'd like.

We know that because they're actually lining up another nine-figure signing. The biggest of the lot.

SportBild report that Liverpool are a club in the running for Michael Olise. Real Madrid, essentially a given at this stage, are also looking at the Bayern Munich star.

Olise's future is set to dominate transfer news going forward. The Frenchman's contract doesn't expire until 2029 but a reluctance to sign a new deal with Bayern would essentially force their hand.

Selling while his price is astronomically high - and the article mentions the €200m range - would be the most practical move. There's no question about that. Whether Liverpool or Real Madrid would actually pay that is another matter, but it's what Bayern would demand.
