In a recent report , journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Liverpool are keen on re-signing Bayer 04 Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah. It has been mentioned that the Reds would have to compete with Real Madrid and Chelsea in the race to land the English talent next year.

Quansah has enjoyed a decent run of form at the German club in this campaign so far as he has put in a few solid performances for them on the defensive end of the field. The 23-year-old made six appearances for Bayer 04 Leverkusen this season, picking up one assist on all fronts.

The English sensation is currently one of the most talented centre-backs in the Bundesliga . Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are trying to bring him back to Anfield next year.

Quansah is under contract at Bayer 04 Leverkusen until the summer of 2030. However, Liverpool have a buyback clause of £59.5m to sign their former defender, which is set to expire next summer.

Quansah loves a tackle and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well from the back.

Standing at 1.90m, the English talent can use his strong frame to win a few crucial 50-50 aerial duels for his team. Quansah is primarily a centre-back but can also fill in as a right-back if required. He already knows the Premier League well from his previous spell at Liverpool and won’t take any time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club.

We can expect Quansah to add a lot of quality to Andoni Iraola’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team place at Anfield in the coming years.
