Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast , journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that Liverpool are big admirers of Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. O’Rourke said,

“Yeah, obviously Julian Ward does look like he’s going to be reappointed as the new sporting director at Liverpool.

“He’s obviously going to have targets in mind and there will be work to do on this Liverpool squad ahead of upcoming transfer windows.

“As you said, Ward was interest previously in bringing Tchouameni to Anfield, and I’m sure there will be interest going forward because he remains very much on Liverpool’s radar.

“But it could be a very difficult deal to do in the near future because he only recently signed a new contract at Real until 2031.”

Tchouameni enjoyed a good run of form at the Madrid club in the previous campaign when he produced a run of influential displays for them in the middle of the park. The French talent was involved in 49 matches for Los Blancos last season, scoring two goals and grabbing two assists on all fronts.

The 26-year-old is currently among the most talented midfielders in La Liga. Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are showing interest in recruiting him next year.
