Reports in Italy claim that Juventus are planning on offering Douglas Luiz a new contract extension following his promising return to Serie A action in 2026-27, which could also be a useful exercise for the Bianconeri accounting department.

Douglas Luiz is currently under contract with Juventus until the summer of 2029, having signed a five-year contract when he joined the Old Lady from Aston Villa at a cost of €50m in the summer of 2024.

His first season in Serie A was a massive disappointment, ending the season with just three starts in the Italian top flight as the Bianconeri secured a top-four finish by one single point.

The Brazilian was then sent out on a series of loans to the Premier League in 2025-26, first to Nottingham Forest where he again struggled to make an impact, and then to his former club Aston Villa in the second half of the season.

Douglas Luiz returned to Turin over the summer to find a new head coach, Luciano Spalletti, in charge of Juventus, and since then, he has been reintegrated into the first-team set-up. He has gone on to start in all of Juventus’s first six competitive matches of the 2026-27 campaign.

And now, according to Saturday’s reports from Tuttosport , Juventus are planning on offering Douglas Luiz, who returned to the Brazil national team squad for the first time in two years in September, a new contract until the summer of 2030.
