According to Mundo Deportivo , Barcelona have reached an agreement with Marc Bernal to extend his contract until 2031.

The outlet mentions that the new deal could be signed this week, with only the final paperwork and official announcement still pending.

The agreement shows Barcelona’s confidence in the 18-year-old midfielder, whom Hansi Flick continues to rate highly despite his limited playing time this season.

Barcelona and Bernal are now working to find the right date to formalise the extension, which could potentially come between the Champions League meeting with Galatasaray and Saturday’s La Liga clash against Real Betis.

As such, the final meeting is expected to take place in president Joan Laporta’s office, with vice-president Rafa Yuste, sporting director Deco and coordinator Bojan Krkic also set to be involved.
