Since the summer transfer window shut at the start of September, Liverpool have been linked with many new players.

Obviously, deals for new players to make the switch to Anfield can't be struck until the window opens up again but, the fact that Liverpool are building up their shortlist of potential targets is encouraging.

Over the summer, it felt like Richard Hughes didn't really have much of a plan to replace Mohamed Salah apart from Yan Diomande .

And, when that deal fell through, he chose to turn his attention towards Bradley Barcola who was going to be the Reds' fourth left-winger among their squad.

Obviously, thanks to his versatility, he can play as a right-winger if needed but, they'd be much better of with a natural right-winger among their ranks.

Admittedly, bringing a new right-winger in should be one of Liverpool's main priorities but, since they also have another couple of areas that could do with an upgrade or two, it's hardly surprising to see players in those areas being targeted too.

One of the other main areas that Liverpool need to bolster is their midfield.

The Anfield outfit only have four options for their double pivot at the moment with one of them being 19-year-old Trey Nyoni .
