Brighton may have only just welcomed Luka Vuskovic to the Premier League, but the early signs point to a transfer story that could gather serious pace over the next 18 months. According to TeamTalk , Bayern Munich are already “extremely keen” on the Croatia international and have placed him high among their targets for the summer of 2027.

That detail matters. Brighton signed Vuskovic from Tottenham in the summer for £46million, plus a sell-on clause, and there is no immediate expectation of movement. The report is clear that “a move in January is unlikely”, with Brighton under no pressure to entertain offers for a player who has adapted quickly.

Even so, the wider picture is worth watching closely. Bayern’s admiration is long-standing, with the defender having been “offered to the German champions” before his move to England. Contact between the parties goes back well before his Hamburg spell ended, and the Bundesliga side have not let the trail go cold.

The main barrier, for now, is internal. Bayern are said to want to move out a centre-back before making a fresh investment, with Kim Min-jae and Hiroki Ito among those they are looking to offload. Until space is created, any formal approach remains parked.

Still, Vuskovic is described as “part of those plans” and as “one of the key targets”. That suggests Bayern’s interest is concrete rather than speculative. It also underlines why this is a situation Brighton will need to manage carefully, particularly if the player continues his upward trajectory.

Bayern are not alone. Chelsea and Barcelona are both still tracking the 19-year-old, while Real Madrid and Liverpool have also been cited as clubs monitoring his development. The report adds that the player is “open to a move to Munich”, which naturally sharpens the focus on Bayern’s long-term position.

Brighton have, however, protected themselves as well as they could. Vuskovic is under contract until 2031, and Tottenham hold a 20 per cent sell-on clause, meaning any eventual deal would need to be substantial. For now, his focus remains on England, and “for now he will remain at Brighton”.

From a Brighton supporter’s perspective, this is exactly the kind of report that creates unease, even if there is no immediate bid on the table. The club have done superbly to identify and secure one of Europe’s most exciting young defenders, yet that success always brings a familiar consequence. The bigger clubs circle quickly, and they circle hard.
